Chapter 13
In this chapter I became aware of more of how the people around you have a greateer influence on you than most people actually notice. For example, even by just being in your group of friends you may not agree with what they have to say at first but over time it's weird but you eventually develope a sense for everything in common with them. You don't really even notice it until you read something like this and it really sticks out and makes you watn to be the one to be different out of everyone.

Chapter 15 and 16 Blog
Chapter 15
Some of the things I learned in this chapter include how there are some diseases that only develope in some countries and then there are the ones that are worldly diseases. They are called culture- bound syndromes and Cultural universality. There nare also many different types of phobias that all deal with different things. Some of them are agoraphobia, specific, and social phobias. They all deal with what people are afraid of but then they consist of different items that cause the fear. Agoraphobics are afraid of being in situations that getting out of would be hard. For example, At a party and not being able call a parent or get a ride home so you are stuck and have a chance at having a panic attack. Those are a couple things from this chapter that I learned about.
Chapter 16
There are a lot of different facts in this chapter but the main points all correlate with psychoanalysis. There are many steps that need to be taken in the process. Thos are free association, interpretation, dream analysis, resistance, transference, and working through. Those are all very detail- oriented steps that require a lot of time and patience in order to find out what is causing people to be troubled adn to life the causes up adn confront them head on with the patient. This theory was brought up by Frued and it found to be very useful using these steps. There are many different therapy approaches but the one that really interested me was the flooding and virtual exposure because it is bringing out the phobias and confronting them personally over and over again to try to get rid of that fear. Those are some simple facts that I learned fromthis chapter that I took great interest in!
